Five Best Jerrycan Vehicle Mounts

We are often asked about brackets that can be used to secure our LifeSaver Jerrycans while on the road; once filled with water they weigh quite a bit and no one wants something that heavy sliding around the trunk, roof rack or kitchen space of your campervan, motorhome, RV or 4x4.

The banding that goes around the Jerrycan is designed for use with simple straps or bungee cords but, for a more substantial solution, there are number of options on the market that will work perfectly. The LifeSaver Jerrycan was designed to match the dimensions of military-style fuel or water jerrycans for exactly this reason. There are even some options available that LifeSaver devotees have come up with. Budget-wise, you get what you pay for so, if you're in it for the long haul, it's probably worth investing in one of the more robust versions.

Couple of things to bear in mind: firstly, if you’re planning on mounting your Jerrycan on the outside of the vehicle you might want to choose an option that can be locked to prevent theft. Secondly, the filter mustn't be allowed to freeze so, if you’re exploring sub-zero environments, store your Jerrycan inside the vehicle.
